ChromaBlast
ChromaBlast is our pigment ink set that needs to be used with our ChromaBlast media to produce bright, beautiful transfers onto light-colored cotton and cotton-blend fabrics.
EasySubli
EasySubli, created in partnership with Siser®, is a 4-color dye sublimation ink developed to work with the Siser EasySubli HTV. It also produces great results on hard and soft substrates.

Frequently Asked Questions
We have created three ink sets for our printers; each specially formulated for a different type of blanks.
SubliJet UHD
SubliJet ink is our most versatile ink and is formulated to work in conjunction with sublimation paper on any blank with a polymer coating. You can also press onto soft substrates such as fabrics, providing they have a high polyester content. With fabric blends, remember that the ink will only adhere to the polyester fibers. The higher the polyester content the better the result.
You may also use SubliJet ink, in conjunction with Siser EasySubli vinyl, and press onto cotton and dark fabrics. This will provide similar results to EasySubli inks.
ChromaBlast
ChromaBlast ink is specifically designed to be used in conjunction with ChromaBlast paper and allows you to press onto cotton fabric that falls into the category of lights, brights, or whites. For best results it is recommended to cut around the image prior to pressing. This can be done as a rough cut as scissors, but you can use ChromaBlast with a cutter as well.
EasySubli
EasySubli ink is formulated for use on Siser Easy Subli Vinyl but can also be used on any polymer coated blank when used with sublimation paper. Using EasySubli inks in conjunction with EasySubli vinyl will allow you to achieve great results when pressing onto cotton garments and onto dark colors of polyester and cotton fabrics.
When used with sublimation paper, it will also allow you press onto hard substrates and polyester fabrics with a similar result to SubliJet ink.
You’ll receive ink level notifications on your LCD screen at two specific times.
Low Ink simply indicates that you still have at least 10% of that color ink left. It’s a good opportunity to start thinking about purchasing replacements, although you won’t need to change them until the LCD displays the replace ink or depleted ink message.
Replace Ink or Depleted Ink message prompts you to replace ink cartridges. You only need to swap out the affected colors before you can continue printing. As a safety measure, printing is disabled until the ink cartridges are replaced to protect your Sawgrass printer.
The two most common ink sets available for the VJ628 are SubliJet Dual CMYK and Pro Photo.
Dual CMYK is a 4-color ink set and produces bright and vibrant colors. The set is great for logos or graphic designs.
ProPhoto is an 8-color ink set utilizes light colors and offers smooth gradients, enhanced skin tones and deep rich blacks that makes it the best option for photographic style printing.
Estimating the total number of prints that you can get from a set of ink cartridges is difficult as this number greatly varies depending on the size of the printed image as well as its color and saturation. This is also not considering the standard daily maintenance that the printer will perform.
Keep in mind that we have three different sizes of ink cartridges:
Starter 20ml (Both SG500 and SG1000) are included in Install Kit
Standard 31ml (Both SG500 and SG1000)
Extended 70ml (SG1000 and SubliJet UHD only)

If you notice your ink cartridges are running low, you may purchase more ink from an official Sawgrass dealer. You do not need to change cartridges until you get a message that your ink is depleted. Please see our Dealer page and browse your region.
