Paper Error Messages

There are several paper errors that be rectified by following the steps below.  We recommend these settings to all 4880 users.  If at any point you get lost in the settings, press the pause (II) button (above the garbage can) to return to the READY state. 

  • Press Menu twice to PRINTER SETUP/PLATEN GAP.

  • Press the down arrow (5) times to PPR SIZE CHK, press Menu.

  • If it is not set to *OFF, press the up arrow to OFF and press Menu to get the asterisk.

  • Press the left arrow, down arrow once to PPR ALIGN CHK, press Menu.

  • If it is not set to *OFF, press the up arrow to OFF and press Menu to get the asterisk.

  • Press the left arrow, down arrow (4) times to SHEET SIZE CHK, press Menu.

  • If it is not set to *OFF, press the up arrow to OFF and press Menu to get the asterisk.

  • Press the pause (II) button to return to the READY state.

  • If the paper errors persist, contact Epson support.
