M-Textile Inks - How it Works

M-Inks: How they work

M-Textile inks are a family of water-based modified pigment inks that make up a completely new and totally revolutionary new category of digital textile inks. The binder-free ink is specially formulated with reactive elements that enable it to bind to all fabrics. Incorporating a high load of high-performance pigments, M-Textile ink produces exceptionally vibrant colors with a three-year outdoor durability.

This extremely versatile ink saves time, energy and capital. In contrast to acid and reactive-dye inks that require costly and time-consuming post-processing, M-Textile inks need only 1 - 3 minutes of heat fixation depending on the specific ink and fabric combination. M-Textile inks also eliminate the need to change out inks or to buy multiple printers and expensive post-processing equipment.

M-Textile inks are compatible with the industry’s most popular digital textile printers including Mimaki, Roland, Mutoh, Splash of Color, dGen, ATP and DuPont Artistri.

M-Textile Versus Available Textile Digital Inks

M-TT Textile for DuPont Artistri and printers using Piezo print head technology prints on cotton, cotton/polyester blends, polyester, silk, wool, linen, hemp and other natural fibers. M-TT Textile ink is a terrific one-ink-prints-all replacement for conventional pigment inks, reactive dyes and disperse dyes.

M-TTS Nylon / Polyester ink for printers using Piezo print head technology prints on Nylon and Polyester fabrics making it the perfect choice for two-sided flag and banner producers. It provides sublimation-like color vibrancy and is an excellent alternative to acid dyes.

M-Textiles - Features & Benefits

The Demand for Digitally Printed Fabrics is Skyrocketing!

Worldwide Digital Textile Forecast

Even in the current economic climate, digitally printed textiles are so differentiated that the demand for digitally printed natural and man-made fabrics continues to grow rapidly. By 2012, digital textile printers are expected to produce 880 million square feet of printed fabric with a retail value of $1.6 billion!

Fewer Head Replacements

Extreme Run-Ability Reduces Costs and Maximizes Revenue Potential

M-Textile inks' binder-free formula provides excellent Run-ability! Conventional water-based pigment inks formulated with binders are notorious for their frequent head-clogs and the associated maintenance costs and machine down time. In contrast, printing with M-Textile inks saves thousands of dollars on lower maintenance costs and countless hours of machine downtime annually. It all adds up to better cost control and maximum revenue.

Vibrant Colors!

Increased Yield and Rich, Vibrant and Consistent Colors from a Limited Pallet

M-Textile inks are made with very high quality modified pigments, and have a much higher pigment load than conventional pigment inks. This formulation provides a matt-finish color that approaches that of reactive dyes, and up to 20% greater yield than other inks. Unlike other inks that may need up to 12 colors, M-Textile inks deliver this amazing color with a limited ink pallet.

Natural & Synthetic Fabrics

One Ink with One Printer Prints on Natural and Synthetic Fabrics

Part of what places M-Textile inks in a completely new category of ink is its unique ability to print on a wide variety of natural and synthetic fabrics, opening up new markets for digital textile printers. This amazing versatility eliminates the need change out inks or invest in multiple printers and expensive post-processing equipment. M-Textile ink replaces conventional pigment ink as well as acid, reactive and disperse dyes.

Three Year Outdoor Durability

AATCC TESTED, Three-year outdoor Durability

An independent laboratory has rigorously tested M-Textile ink using American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) testing methods. Tests include UV Fastness, Wash Fastness, Crock Fastness and tolerance to Perspiration. Test results show that M-Textile ink delivers three-year outdoor durability, and based on prevailing standards, M-Textile ink is ideal for a wide variety of digital textile applications.

On Demand Printing

On-Demand Textile Printing

Acid, reactive and disperse dyes call for time-consuming and costly post-processing. Requiring only 1 - 3 minutes of heat fixation depending on the specific ink and fabric combination, M-Textile inks are an integral part of a truly on-demand textile printing system.

Green Ink!

Sustainable Textile Printing

M-Textile inks are water-based and have no Toxic Air Pollutants (TAPs) or Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). Acid, reactive and disperse dyes require steaming, washing, drying, and at times, even waste-water treatment while printers using M-Textile inks enjoy vastly lower energy costs, and a reduced capital equipment investment.

Pre-Coated Fabrics

Matched Component Fabrics and M-Textile Coatings

Like all other digital textile inks, M-Textile inks print on a matched component pre-coated fabric. M-Textile coating acts as a catalyst that facilitates binding to the fabric and gives the finished product a soft hand. Popular pre-coated fabrics, including Cotton Sateen, Cotton Sailcloth, Cotton Oxford, Polyester Banner Fabric, Nylon Lycra and Nylon Flag are in stock and available from multiple suppliers. M-Textile Coating is also available for those who wish to have their own fabrics coated.
