Tech Tip: Run Nozzle Checks

Posted: 3/15/2016

Your sublimation printer uses tiny nozzles to disperse ink from the cartridges to the transfer paper you’re printing on. Sometimes these openings become clogged, which can result in poor image quality.

Printing a nozzle check pattern can help determine if all of the nozzles in the print head are allowing ink to be printed on the paper. This is the first place to look if you are experiencing any problems such as faint output, streaking or issues with color.

Many users perform a nozzle check at the beginning and even several times throughout the day to verify there is not a problem that would interfere with production. This is also something to evaluate first if the system has not been used for a while, prior to sending a print job.
